Penrallt Baptist Church

Online Service: Easter Sunday 4th April 2021 (10:30am)

This week's service was an all-age communion service held live on Zoom. The service itself was not recorded but here are some resources you may find useful.

Here a pre-recorded version of the main talk (illustrating the meaning of Easter with help from a teabag, a pair of scissors and a box of matches).

An Easter Spinner

Here is an activity suitable for children of all ages.

You will need scissors, card, a split pin (or a sharp pencil and some play dough) and a copy of the Easter Spinner PDF craft sheets that you can download here:

  1. Print the craft sheets (2 sheets)
  2. Cut out the circes
  3. On the Easter circle, cut along the curved line.
  4. Colour the circles
  5. Place the Easter circle over the one with pictures and secure with a split pin if you have one or put a sharp pencil through the middle into a piece of play dough
  6. Move the top circle around to re-tell the Easter story

Here are a pair of videos telling the Good Friday and Easter story from the perspective of the apostle Peter, written and narrated by the South Wales poet Dai Woolridge (we used these videos in our Good Friday and Easter services respectively):

Part 1: Good Friday

Part 2: Easter Sunday

And here are the three songs used for this year's Cytûn (Churches Together in Bangor) Easter Service, which were recorded by Penrallt's musicians:

Low In The Grave He Lay

Crist A Orchfygodd

This is a Welsh translation of Thine be the glory

I Cast My Mind (O Praise The Name)

A message from John Thompson

John Thompson, Penrallt's Minister

Hi! I'm the minister at Penrallt, and part of the leadership team here. We’d love to hear from you and pray for you, whether you live in the Bangor area or you live further afield and have found us on the internet.

  • If you want to find out more about becoming a Christian, we'd love to walk with you, to support and encourage you in that journey and provide some useful resources.
  • Please send us an email or ring the office to find out about our homegroups which meet using Zoom and join one of these. We can also provide technical assistance to get that working, or help you connect just using a normal telephone.
  • Please confirm if we can add you to one of our "contact, care and prayer" groups. We are trying to look out for people who are part of the community here at Penrallt, including practical help with shopping, and we'd like to give you a ring on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to see how you are getting on and to continue to pray for you.
  • If you're interested in becoming a member, or helping with the work of the church we'd love to explore that with you.
  • It's our prayer that God blesses you through this time. Please follow the links on the website, or contact the church office by email to office@penrallt.org or by phone on 07934 231788 (Mon-Fri, 10am-3pm, excluding bank holidays).
