What is Penrallt like?

Penrallt Door

We try to be open and friendly, creative and modern, wise and down-to-earth, informal and relevant. We try to be a church where you draw closer to God, learn something useful, bring a friend without ever feeling embarrassed, always feel welcomed, safe and understood. Our music flows from rock to traditional hymns, from Celtic folk to blues, from sit-and-reflect to stand-up-and-clap-your-hands.

We are seeking to love, trust and follow Jesus; by his Spirit; together in grace, truth and love, to the glory of God.

Penrallt is a member of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Evangelical Alliance, as well as being part of the community of Bangor, Gwynedd (North Wales) and a member of CYTÛN Bangor (Churches Together In Bangor). As such, we subscribe to the BUGB Declaration of Principle and the EA Basis of Faith, as well as the Apostle's Creed. These are gathered in the PDF document, What We Believe.

Coffee Time

Although Penrallt is primarily an English-language church, we are sympathetic to the Welsh language and have several first-language Welsh speakers amongst our members. We sing our hymns and songs bilingually wherever possible and hold some events bilingually or in Welsh.

We moved to our current location on Holyhead Road in 2005 due to increasing numbers and we would be pleased to welcome you too. A map and directions to the church are available here. We have written a short document outlining the history of our building (PDF).
